Nigeria And The Rule Of Law

Hi Everyone,i jus had to write about this, though normally i dont type in conventional english this topic is very serious so i have to type seriously.
Since 1999 after we started practicing democracy in my dearly beloved, the law my friend has been usurped times without number by the incumbent administration and the people at large.

Presently we are in the phase of transition i.e Elections are going to take place come 14th April 2007.The Independent National electoral Comiision (INEC) says they are 99% ready for the polls....Bravo!
But one fact that is still there is the disqualification of certain candidates to contest the April Polls, one of them being our enstranged Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar,he was indicted by an illegal administrative panel and was hence disqualified by INEC.But a ruling from a Federal High Court In Abuja says "INEC can disqualify, but based on the Illegal Panels findings,Atiku's disqualification is Null and Void".....

In the News dailies of today Friday 6th April, the Federal Govt.through its Attorney General says Atiku remains disqualified. How?The Courts Have declared his disqualification a Farce, but in total disregard the AG says they would not obey the court rule, how can our democracy then grow if upholders of the Law disregard it?

INEC too filed a petition at the court Of appeal to stay the Federal High Courts decision and exclude atikus name from the ballot,The ruling PDP says Atiku doesnt stand a chance in the polls, but why are they so scared of him contesting?

I as a patriotic Nigerian have observed the way the Olusegun Obasanjo Administration and his cohorts useless the rule of law in the country such as to say that if you are aligned with Mr President you are untouchable.

The PTDF saga which is why Atiku was indicted is small talk compared to what other PDP politicians have done...What about Zwingina and Mantu demanding Bribes from El Rufai?,what about Andy Uba Anambra gubernatorial candidate who smuggled over a 100 thousand Us dollars and was indicted, yet he is still allowed to run in his state.?The way OBJ and his goons are running Nigeria as if it belongs to them is a sorry affair

Nigeria belongs to Nigerians and not a select Few.Reallly i do not have much to say,but if Atiku is not allowed to contest the April polls then we as a nation have failed to uphold the rule of law,we as a nation have failed in our democratic attempt,we as a nation are not true to the spirit of brotherhood,we as a nation will move into a dark era.

Let it be known that the International community is watching to see if we can pull this one off,let us not Fail Again

Action Congress....democracy Forever.....

Thank You.

Yo Tik

Thanks for the feed,I had to say a word about this,it is utterly sickening the way things happen in Nigeria, everybody whether they are gangsters or manslayers deserve to be judged according to the rule of law,the kind of selective justice practiced in Nigeria suggests a state slowly moving towards anarchy and it would be a crying shame because the effects of an implosion would be devastating. That much is saying the obvious, what is not so clear is what you,I or anybody else can do,its the seeming powerlessness that irks body and soul,in this regard let us collectively quesion, advocate and agitate for a change by whichever mneans God places at our disposal,in this battle, silence is the greatest evil.One.

Oakes.
